Qurbani 2026

Qurbani 2026

Every family deserves the happiness of Eid. You can help make it happen.

How does it work

Humaniti has partnered up with the most trusted international NGOs to bring access to affordable Qurbani in some of the world’s most vulnerable communities. When you choose to give your Qurbani through Humaniti, the Qurbani price includes everything - the price of the livestock as well as the hygiene and ethnic treatment. The cattle are sacrificed during the 10th – 13th days of Dhul Hijjah.

The meat you purchase is distributed either fresh or chilled, according to what is appropriate for the specific region. Each packet is 2-5 kilograms of meat and feeds a family of 4-8 people.

EVERY YEAR DURING THESE BLESSED DAYS OF DHUL HIJJAH, WE MUST ASK OURSELVES THE ESSENTIAL QUESTION:

How can I give from and with my heart to those whose hearts are in grief, in pain, in despair?

Those who no longer have a home, who don’t know when their next meal will be, who are suffering from sickness, who are persecuted simply because of their faith.

Will we be their supporters during these blessed days?

[/vc_row_inner]

They are the weeping fathers of Palestine who wonder when their children will live a life without rockets flying in the skies. They are the starving children of Yemen who know all too well the stabbing pangs of hunger. They are the weakened elderly of India who are struck by the pandemic in an awful way. They are the hungry families in Pakistan, whose feet are blackened from being out in the streets. They are the single mothers of Rohingya raising shattered children, whose family is broken by the violence.

They will ask you, where were you?

Where are we?

We must see ourselves in them in order to feel it in our heart, feel the urge to help them. Because in our unity, we are them.

“The parable of the believers in their affection, mercy, and compassion for each other is that of a body. When any limb aches, the whole body reacts with sleeplessness and fever.” Does our body react? Do we feel their pain?

Give your Qurbani to Humaniti today. Ease their pain.

During these days, challenge yourself to look within your hearts. Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) was rewarded for the willingness to sacrifice what was beloved to him. The willingness.

And Allah rewarded his willingness with an opportunity to sacrifice something he can feed to those who need it. Isn’t that beautiful?

During these 10 days, don’t lose out on an opportunity to feed others. Who knows - perhaps your giving is what will elevate you in ranks in this world and the next. Challenge yourself to see how we can sacrifice what we love for the sake of Allah, and for the sake of those who have nothing to cling to.

Let’s give them hope during these 10 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who needs to perform Qurbani?

Qurbani is obligatory upon every sane adult Muslim male/female who can afford to do so. Typically, those who are able to pay Zakat are obliged to give Qurbani.

What does Qurbani mean?

Qurbani means “sacrifice”and it is done in an effort to come close to God. It commemorates the act of submission that Prophet Ibrahim (peace be upon him) made. Every year, we sacrifice from our wealth and share our blessings with those in need

How does Humaniti select recipients of Qurbani meat?

Our international NGOs we will assess and identify which families have higher priority in receiving the Qurbani. The families most in need are assessed according to the following criteria:Families who live on less than the minimum income for that particular country Female-headed households Families with disabled and/or elderly persons Children under five years old Pregnant women Breastfeeding mothers Families with little or no access to the market

Do I have to perform Qurbani on behalf of my children?

Please consult your local Imam/Sheikh, as this depends on the school of thought you follow. According to the Hanafi school of thought it is obligatory for every sane Muslim of mature age, non-travelling. This also includes those who own wealth which is beyond their needs.

Do you need to give all the names of the people who are giving Qurbani? And will their names be called out during slaughter?

No, as it will be strenuous to recite the names of all the thousands of donors. Scholars have approved the sacrifice without the names as long as the intention of the person was made. We encourage everyone to make their intention when donating their Qurbani.

What types of Qurbani meat does Humaniti provide?

In most countries, fresh qurbani is provided where the animals are slaughtered and the meat is distributed locally. However, in some countries where fresh Qurbani is unavailable, we ship the meat frozen/chilled. It will then be distributed on the third day of Eid onwards, in order to be cost-effective, while still providing families the opportunity to eat the meat provided.

How is a Qurbani volume decided? Is it a cow or a sheep?

Our international partners negotiate prices and selection of animals based on local supply and current economic conditions.

How can we really be sure that the Qurbanis we pay for in some of the poorest countries are actually taking place?

Humaniti collaborates with some of the most trusted international NGOs for our Qurbani projects. We monitor and receive reports from all our implementing partners, as well as pictures and videos to enhance the accuracy and transparency of the work being done on behalf of our donors.

Until when can I make my Qurbani payments?

We will close off by July 18th (8th of Dhul hijjah) so full payment is required at time of ordering.

When should we give money for Qurbani?

As early as possible. Humaniti implements the Qurbani over 4 days (10th to 13th Dhul Hijjah). We purchase the animals to be slaughtered in advance based on forecasted quotas.

How are your prices defined? Some prices appear more expensive than others

Humaniti adopts high quality standards when it comes to giving to those in need, and that includes the selection process of the sacrificial animals. Standards cover health of the animal, its weight (meat yielded) and age. Humaniti tries to reach the most vulnerable people, who are often in remote areas where transportation requires higher cost to reach them. This in turn affects the Qurbani price. Conflict or disasters can make distribution more difficult as well, and can add to the cost.

Why does Humaniti include an admin charge in its Qurbani pricing?

These charges cover the cost of slaughtering, cutting, distribution, and transportation to ensure we get the Qurbani meat quickly to the families in need.

How is Qurbani performed at Humaniti?

Qurbani is performed by our trusted international partners who have been providing these services for tens of thousands of donors across the globe.

What days will the Qurbani 2021 be performed?

Qurbani in 2021 will be performed after the Eid Salah on Eid al-Adha (10th Dhul Hijjah) and will continue until the sunset of the 13th Dhul Hijjah. There is a difference of opinion amongst the scholars as to whether Qurbani can be done over three or four days. To respect all differences, we strive to complete the Qurbani in three days. We only extend into the fourth day if the region allows it and if there is an operational need for this extra day. If you give a Qurbani on any of these days, the Qurbani will still be carried out in time, as Humaniti has already purchased the animals to be slaughtered beforehand.

Why can’t an animal of our choice be sacrificed?

Animals chosen in a country are dependent upon the local diet, the cost of the animal , the availability according to the location, and the quality of the meat.

Can we offer more than one Qurbani?

Yes! You are allowed to offer more than one sacrifice. The Prophet (SAW) himself carried out multiple Qurbani for himself and the Ummah. Many Muslims offer multiple Qurbani on behalf of the Prophet (SAW) and for deceased parents.

If someone intends to offer a sacrifice, when should they stop clipping their nails?

Please ask your local Imam/sheikh according to the school of thought you follow. .
